In
its Green Paper, 'The Learning Age', the Government set out its
vision of 'a learning society in which everyone, from whatever
background, routinely expects to learn and upgrade their skills
throughout life'.
As a consequence of this paper, Learndirect was set up as a network
of drop-in centres where anyone can improve their knowledge and
skills at all levels.
This CD-ROM was produced in collaboration with Channel4 who were
commissioned to create a basic skills education package for the
Learndirect programme.
