The Science of Materials

Produced and developed from the series 'Science in Focus: Materials' that was made for Channel 4 by Granada Television.'

This TV-ROM supports a wide range of syllabuses in the Science curriculum, covering such areas as the study of hydrocarbons, polymers, plastics and the structure of metals. It was originally developed as a video-on-demand educational tool but this proved to be financially unrealistic to most educational establishments.

We therefore pushed for it to be developed in a cheaper and more accessible medium and after this was agreed, were given the challenge to actually design, produce and deliver the new media product.

The TV-ROM is an ingenious educational experience that uses the police investigation of a crime as a vehicle for the revelation of scientific processes.

It contains full-screen interactive video; informative and comprehensive commentaries; 3D molecule animations; exciting and educational activities and links to a selection of web sites.
